(VOVWORLD) -A get-together was held in Hanoi on Friday for historical witnesses to look back on the Paris Agreement on Ending the War and Restoring Peace in Vietnam (Paris Peace Accords) which was signed on January 27, 1973.

Addressing the event, Phan Anh Son, Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, said that Vietnam’s victory reaching the Paris Agreement and the struggle against the US is a victory of conscience, belief in justice, the national liberation movements and of all peace-loving forces in the world.
The delegates looked back on historical journeys, reviewed the memories of the difficult and arduous years when Vietnamese people and friends fought and won and remembered those who passed away.
The event aimed to share lessons for the next generations to uphold the tradition and promote international solidarity for peace, social progress and sustainable development
