40th anniversary of Vietnam-Iran diplomatic ties

(VOVworld)- The Iranian Ambassador to Vietnam Hossein Alvandi Behineh  has highlighted the important development in relations between Vietnam and Iran. Speaking at a ceremony to mark the 40th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic ties, the Ambassador expressed his hope that the ties would develop further in the future for the benefits of both peoples, and for peace in the region and the world.

The Iranian Ambassador said: “The new Iranian government hopes to expand cooperation with Vietnam for the common benefit of the two countries. The Iranian embassy in Hanoi will exert every effort toward this goal. We will organize cultural and art exchange programs to mark the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties to strengthen mutual understanding. Iran has an important position in the Middle East as does Vietnam in ASEAN, which is a dynamic community. So, cooperation between and the development of relation between Vietnam and Iran will benefit both”.

To mark the occasion, the President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations Vu Xuan Hong presented the insignia “For peace and friendship between nations” to Ambassador Hossein Alvandi Behineh.
