The event was co-organized on Wednesday by the provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment, Puratos Grand-Place Vietnam (PGPV), and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ).
According to PGPV, the project has provided 90,000 cocoa seedlings and held 88 in-depth technical training for more than 2,000 farmers from 2021 to 2025. Farmers learned how to reduce tillage, intercrop with hardwood and fruit trees, and improve soil quality. They were also trained on drip irrigation to save water, cocoa-pod husk composting, and using weaver ants for pest control.
Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment, Dang Thi Thuy, said: “Low-emission production and green value chain are inevitable trends. Sustainable cocoa farming will help farmers and businesses join the carbon market in the near future, increase their product’s value, and build eco-friendly agricultural brands.”
