(VOVworld) – The Vietnamese Embassy in the US has called on the Vietnamese community in Washington to support the people and army in Truong Sa, Spratly Archipelago. On addressing the launching ceremony on Tuesday, Ambassador Nguyen Quoc Cuong highlighted the significance of the movement and praised the overseas Vietnamese who live and work in the US for actively taking part in activities to help their fellow countrymen. David Ho, President of the Vietnamese Business Association 'Spratly and Paracel Archipelagos are Vietnam’s water territorial therefore, I feel happy to contribute parts of my efforts to the islands’ people and army'.

Asa Trinh is a dancing teacher in Washington. She shares her emotion 'As an overseas Vietnamese, I always turn to my fatherland and hope that in the future I will have a chance to perform for the people and soldiers in the islands. I hope our soldiers and people there to have a good health to protect our territory'.

Nearly 8,000 USD was raised at the launch.
