(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam’s U23 team will play their opening Group A match against Jordan on Tuesday, at the AFC U23 Asian Cup Finals in Saudi Arabia.

Ahead of the match, team Vietnam head coach Kim Sang Sik said his team is considered the underdog in Group A, but with focus and determination, they definitely have a chance to advance. The South Korean coach said he’s happy to be leading Vietnam U23 at the continental tournament.
Vietnam U23 have completed their SEA Games objectives and are now fully focused on the Asian Cup 2026. They will face Kyrgyzstan on Friday and hosts Saudi Arabia next Monday.
The AFC U23 Asian Cup Finals is taking place until January 24 in Saudi Arabia, featuring 16 teams.
