Amendments to 2013 Constitution to headline upcoming NA Standing Committee meeting

(VOVWORLD) - The National Assembly’s Standing Committee is scheduled to convene its 44th session in Hanoi in two phases, from April 14 to 17. and from April 22 to 28, according to the Office of the National Assembly.

High on the agenda will be discussions on amendments and supplements to the 2013 Constitution, the establishment of a committee to draft those changes, and the gathering of public feedback on the proposed revisions.

Full-time lawmakers will also give opinions on the revised law on nuclear energy and draft laws on science, technology, and innovation; extradition; the transfer of prisoners; and judicial assistance.

The Standing Committee will review the implementation of socio-economic development plans and state budget for 2024 and the first quarter of this year.

Deputies will discuss a proposal to increase the Vietnam Cooperative Bank’s charter capital using state budget funds, adjustments to the national land use planning through 2030 with a vision to 2050, and the establishment of the National Election Council.

Other topics include preparations for the next session of the National Assembly and the construction of the National Assembly Museum.
