(VOVWORLD) - More than 1,000 artists performed in the art program “Country full of joy” on Sunday evening in Ho Chi Minh City as part of celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30).

The program, attended by Party General Secretary To Lam, highlighted the historic 1975 Spring Victory, national solidarity, the aspiration for peace and independence, and the will to reunify the country. Heartfelt gratitude was expressed for the contributions of those who fought bravely for the great victory and the heroic tradition of the Vietnam People's Army in the cause of national defense and development.

The program left a strong impression on spectators.
“I like history, so I watched this program. I often listen to songs like ‘Aspiration of youth’ and ‘The greatcircle of Vietnam’and other revolutionary music, not just pop music. I’m very proud. Because we’re celebrating 50 years of national reunification, I want to see all the art performances and military parades.”
“I’m participating in all activities from now until April 30. I think everyone in Vietnam feels proud of this special event, a brilliant milestone for the Vietnamese people, when the South was liberated and the country was unified.”
“On April 30, 1975, we were present at this place. My unit was marching toward the Independence Palace. Today I’m so moved. I remember the moment I set foot here 50 years ago.”
