(VOVworld)- The Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts (AVSE) in France held its 2^nd Congress on Saturday to discuss plans for the next term. AVSE President Nguyen Duc Khuong said that the Association aimed to raise its prestige and promote its activities in France and Europe to further attract the participation of Vietnamese scientists and experts in France as well as support from local scientists. In the coming time, the Association will expand the areas of scientific research and focus more on natural and application sciences. It will organize more in-depth workshops, and strengthen partnership and cooperation with French scientific research institutions to boost the French-Vietnamese ties. It will also increase cooperation with Vietnamese partners to invest in the projects that are applicable to Vietnam’s socio-economic and scientific development. In previous term, AVSE held some workshops on the history, legal basis, geopolitics and economics in the East Sea to confirm Vietnam’s sovereignty over Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagoes. These events were highly appreciated for their professional organization and agenda.
