The buffaloes are painted under themes related to the horse zodiac symbol, the Communist Party, the Lunar New Year, and Vietnam’s renewal and development.
The contest committee awarded one 1st prize, one 2nd prize, and two 3rd prizes.
The prize-winning buffaloes participated in a ceremonial ploughing ritual on Monday. This ritual is a centerpiece of the Doi Son Ploughing Festival, symbolizing hopes for favorable weather and abundant harvests in the coming year.
