California wildfires leave 10 dead, destroy 10,000 homes
(VOVWORLD) - Wildfires in Southern California have claimed at least 10 lives and destroyed approximately 10,000 homes, with the death toll expected to rise as fires continue to spread around Los Angeles.

Currently, more than 150,000 people are on standby for evacuation, and about 58,000 homes remain at risk. The fires have caused economic losses estimated from 135 billion and 150 billion USD.
President Joe Biden has approved a major disaster declaration for California, ensuring the federal government will cover all response and recovery costs for the next six months.
