Cambodia shuts all border crossings with Thailand

(VOVWORLD) - The Cambodian Government on Saturday decided to suspend all entry and exit movements at all Cambodia-Thailand border crossings, effective immediately and until further notice, according to Cambodia's Interior Ministry.

But flights between the two countries are operating as normal.
Cambodia’s Senate President Hun Sen said that the measures aim to protect citizens of both sides, especially in border areas. He also urged the Cambodian Government to ensure the safety of Thai nationals living in Cambodia.
Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced that, as 2025 ASEAN Chair, Malaysia will soon convene a special meeting of ASEAN Foreign Ministers to discuss the border tensions between Cambodia and Thailand.
