Addressing the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Saturday, Wang said "China supports all efforts conducive to the peaceful resolution of the Ukraine crisis."

The fundamental solution, he said, is to address the legitimate security concerns of all parties and build a balanced, effective, and sustainable security structure. Wang said China urges all relevant parties to prevent the crisis from spilling over and to protect the legitimate rights and interests of developing countries.

He said the world has entered a new phase full of challenges, instability and changes which have not been seen in a century, but said this is also an era of hope in which peace and development remain the dominant trends.
