China remains world’s largest holder of AI patents

(VOVWORLD) - China continues to lead the world in artificial intelligence (AI) patents, accounting for 60% of the global total, according to a report released at the 2025 World Internet Conference, which concluded on Sunday in Wuzhen, Zhejiang province, China.
The report also shows that China ranks first worldwide in 6G patent applications, representing over 40% of the global total.
Last year, the number of Chinese enterprises developing or applying AI technologies increased by 36% compared to the previous year.
The 2025 World Internet Conference attracted more than 1,600 delegates from over 130 countries and territories.
