China strongly opposes NATO’s Washington Summit declaration

(VOVWORLD) - The Washington Summit Declaration of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) contains biases, smears, and provocations towards Beijing, said Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian on Thursday.

At a media briefing, Mr. Lin said the declaration exaggerated the Asia-Pacific situation and was a product of the Cold War mentality. China has lodged a diplomatic protest to NATO, he said.
Spokesperson Lin also condemned NATO's claim that the Ukraine issue is China's responsibility, adding that “China’s objective and just position on Ukraine and the constructive role we’ve played are widely recognized by the international community.”
He said NATO has been spreading disinformation to hamper China-Europe cooperation.
