Citizens play core role in tackling non-traditional security threats: PM
(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has stressed that prevention is a strategic, fundamental, long-term, decisive, and sustainable approach to non-traditional security threats, stressing that comprehensive and holistic measures must be taken with the people at the center as the main actors.

Speaking at a national conference in Hanoi to launch the government’s Resolution 147 on the prevention of and response to non-traditional security threats by 2030, with a vision for 2045, the Prime Minister stressed the need to improve forecasting, early warning, and responses to non-traditional security threats to prevent and push back threats to avoid incidents. If incidents do occur, responses must be rapid, urgent, timely, and effective, said the PM.

In the time ahead, the Prime Minister urged raising public awareness of non-traditional security threats and continuing to refine legal frameworks for prevention and response. Forecasting and warning capabilities, he stressed, must be grounded in scientific evidence, while the completion of a set of national security, welfare, and safety indicators will provide a basis for alerts and coordinated action.
