Co Loa recognized as a national special relic

(VOVworld) – Co Loa, a historical, architectural, and archeological vestige in Dong Anh district on the outskirts of Hanoi, has been recognized as a National Special Relic. A celebration to receive the certificate is held in the district on Thursday evening.

Vice Chairman of Dong Anh district’s People’s Committee Hoang Ke Khiem says a ceremony will be followed by special art performances and a documentary screening on Co Loa’s history. Co Loa was the capital of Au Lac, at the third century BC, and the Van Xuan state under Ngo Quyen reign in the 10th century. Mr. Khiem says: "It’s a pride for Co Loa to be recognized as a national special relic. The district’s authority and people feel more responsible for protecting this relic. There are 60 vestiges in Co Loa area and we’ll implement more specific programs to preserve, restore, and promote their values."
