At a news conference broadcast on Russian television Wednesday, Crimea’s first Deputy Prime Minister Rustam Temirgaliev said Crimea will nationalize in the next few days, the property of Ukrainian state companies including companies extracting oil in the Black Sea and the sea of Azov, Ukraine’s railway company, and several state-run health resorts.

Crimea will hold a referendum Sunday on whether to leave Ukraine and join Russia. In order to prevent any disruptive activities prior to the voting, Crimean authorities have reinforced security at the main airport and  restricted flights to or from the peninsula until Monday.

G7 leaders have asked Russia to stop organizing the referendum or they will impose sanctions.
