Cultural diplomacy defined as a pillar of HCM City’s foreign affairs
(VOVWORLD) - HCM City’s People’s Committee Chairman Phan Van Mai described cultural diplomacy as a key pillar in the city’s diplomacy and a core element in its foreign affairs.

Culture is expected to enhance the city’s soft power, said Mr. Mai said at a conference to review the city’s foreign relations in the 2020-2025 period.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son commended HCM City’s foreign affairs activities over the past years, saying they have contributed not only to the city’s development but also to broader national achievements.
He urged the city to further promote its foreign affairs, with priority given to economic diplomacy, strengthening its global image and reputation, and enhancing people-to-people diplomacy and overseas Vietnamese affairs.
HCM City will continue to serve as a driving force in the coming period. helping the country advance further in the new era, Mr. Son said.
