Deadly blast at chemical plant in US state of Louisiana

At least one person has been killed and 73 injured in an explosion and fire that tore through William Olefins chemical plant in the US state of Louisiana on Thursday. This accident comes just 2 months after another blast at a pesticide factory in Texas killed 15 firefighters and wounded 200 others. At a press conference after the explosion, Governor of Louisiana Bobby Jindal has affirmed the number of casualties and stressed that more than 300 workers were evacuated in this “tragedy”. 10 people are stuck inside the factory. People living around 3 km radius were announced to stay indoors, close windows and turn off air conditioning in order to prevent toxic fumes. The cause of the explosion has not been revealed.
