According to Time, Trump was chosen "for marshaling a comeback of historic proportions, for driving a once-in-a-generation political realignment, for reshaping the American presidency and altering America's role in the world.”

Trump also received the title in 2016, after his first presidential election victory.

Other candidates on the 2024 “Person of The Year” list were Kamala Harris, Catherine Princess of Wales, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The title honors people who have significantly shaped global events, from world leaders to cultural revolutionaries.
