(VOVworld) - The Chinese Xinhua news agency quoted the South Korean Defense Ministry as saying that the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) fired four short-range missiles on Thursday. The target was DPRK’s Northeast coastal region. According to the Defense Ministry, the missiles were probably scud missiles with a range of more than 200 km. DPRK conducted this missile launch while the US and South Korea were conducting an annual joint military exercise called “Key Resolve” and a joint training course called “Foel Eagle” over Pyongyang’s objections. Analysts said the DPRK’s short-range missile test was a protest against the military exercise.
