According to KCNA, Kim was nominated to stand for the Mount Paektu constituency. Since his father’s death in late 2011, Kim has held such posts as the First Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, the First Chairman of the National Defence Commission and the Supreme Commander of the Korean People’s Army. But he has not been a member of the Supreme People’s Assembly. Earlier, SPA announced that the 13th Supreme People’s Assembly election with five-year term will be held on March 9th.
