Ensuring social order in the Northwestern region

(VNA) – The Steering Committee of the Northwestern region and the Minister of Public Security have co-organized a seminar on ensuring security and order in the northwestern and adjacent regions.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc appreciated effort and achievements of the police agencies in the northwestern region, which partly have the contributions and support of the local ethnic people. Phuc identified increasing challenges including sophisticated plots by hostile and reactionary forces against the Party and State focusing on the northwestern provinces. He urged functional agencies to evaluate the situation to prevent the adversary to take advantage of religious and national issues to incite social disorder in the region. The Deputy Prime Minister asked ministries, sectors, and organizations in the northwestern and adjacent regions to strengthen local administration to maintain social order and effectively implement the Politburo’s direction in boosting socio-economic development, ensure national defense and security in the Northern midland and mountain regions.
