(VOVWORLD) - The EU on Thursday imposed tariffs on several US goods in response to the US’s introduction of tariffs on EU steel and aluminum earlier this month.
The goods include tobacco, bourbon, jeans, motorbikes, and other items calculated to have a strong political impact on Trump and US politicians. The list of goods was submitted to the World Trade Organization in May. The products are all made in the US.
European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker said on Thursday that the US’s tariff decision goes against all logic and history, and that the EU will do what it has to do to rebalance and safeguard.
