(VOVworld) – An exchange program was held on Saturday night in Quang Tri province to the 65th anniversary of Vietnam Martyrs and War Invalids' Day. The event was organized by a club of Hanoi’s students, the Vietnam Journalists’ Association and the Quang Tri War Veterans Association. The young people expressed their gratitude to those who laid down their lives to national independence and freedom. 30 gifts were given to heroic mothers, war invalids, former young volunteers and Agent Orange victims. 2 AO victim families received 2 cows and 5 houses were handed over to disadvantaged households. Vu Hoang Nam, a Vietnamese student in the US is a member of the club called “Heart Link”: “We have leant valuable lessons this trip because we feel and understand better the great sacrifices made by our predecessors. Although I study in the US, my heart always turns to Vietnam. After graduation, I want to return home to contribute my small part to national development.”

The club “Heart Link” is a voluntary organization established by 5 Hanoi school pupils last November. It aims to help disadvantaged people in society.
