Fighting broke out in Damascus and Aleppo on Sunday. Government forces shelled the town of Irbin and Daraya which are controlled by the opposition. The opposition gained control over a large part of Sheikh Suleiman base in West Aleppo, extending to the border with Turkey. Aleppo, Syria’s biggest city and economic centre, is becoming the center of the fighting. The opposition is trying to secure the city, in which it plans to create a new capital.
