Kevin Smith, the spokesman for US House of Representatives Speaker John Boehner, said the postponement would allow President Barack Obama to have more discussions with Democratic representatives.
Meanwhile, former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton made several statements on Sunday and Monday expressing her support for the Democratic representatives, saying that President Obama needed to find a better deal for American workers and the economy.
