Former Vice President’s memoir published in Japanese

(VOVworld) -  A Japanese version of the famous memoir of Vietnamese former Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh called “Family, Friends and Country” has reached the public in Tokyo. The launch is of great significance as this year marks the 40th anniversary of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic relations. The memoir embraces the life and career of Madam Binh, Vietnam’s first female foreign minister and chief negotiator of the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Viet Nam at the Paris Peace Conference from 1968 to 1973. It describes the unyielding Vietnamese people during their struggle for national liberation.

The book’s preface quotes former Japanese Prime Minister Tomiichi Murayama saying he hopes not only those wishing peace for Vietnam but all peace lovers around the world will read this memoir. Lecturer Konada Yotaro of Seisa University expressed his admiration of Binh’s personality, wisdom, and revolutionary career and the courage of the Vietnamese people to defeat all invaders.
