Gaza death toll surpasses 70,000 in two years of conflict, Ministry reports

(VOVWORLD) - The Palestinian death toll has surpassed 70,000 since the Israel-Hamas conflict began two years ago, the Gaza Health Ministry announced on Saturday.

This figure is much higher than the estimates made by analysts at the time the conflict broke out in early October 2023.
Since a fragile ceasefire took hold on October 10, the entire Gaza Strip recorded an additional 354 deaths. All of the victims were killed in attacks carried out by the Israeli military.
The ministry’s statement provided no details on the total number of people injured or the proportion of civilians among the casualties.
