In nearly 50 presentations, military generals and leading experts in the military, history, and culture highlighted General Giap’s role in military and culture, saying General Giap was a commander with outstanding military talent, and a master of strategy and military art, especially on the people's war.

They also underlined General Giap’s role as one of Vietnam's great cultural figures and his great influence on the preservation and promotion of traditional culture and the building of an advanced Vietnamese culture embracing national identity.
