(VOVworld) – Vice Chairman of the German Police Union Jörg Radek said on Tuesday that Germany needs 2,000 more police for border checks as part of a plan proposed by Interior Minister Thomas de Maizière to reduce the flow of immigrants into Germany. The German Parliament recently approved the 2016 budget which will send 300 more police to border areas to help control refugees and mobilize 240 civil officers to assist the effort. The federal police can fingerprint and process the biometric data of only 1,000 out of the 2,000 migrants arriving at Germany’s border every day.
