Germany tightens security for G20 summit

(VOVWORLD) -Hamburg Mayor Olaf Scholz vowed to ensure security during the G20 summit. He said about 20,000 police will be deployed on city streets on July 7-8.

Police is well-prepared to handle violence or hostile demonstrations. The Ministry of Home Affairs said it has imposed border control measures since June 12 to prevent anti-globalists, anarchists and other leftist forces. Neighboring countries and the European Council will support Germany’s security measures.
