Gia Lai builds 451 houses for people affected by floods

(VOVWORLD) - After 10 days of implementing the “Quang Trung Campaign,” a recent government initiative to rapidly rebuild and repair homes in central Vietnam devastated by severe storms and floods, Gia Lai province has begun construction on or completed 451 houses, equivalent to 70% of the 674 homes that need to be rebuilt.

The province plans that construction of new houses will be completed before January 25, 2026. Of the 31,000 damaged houses requiring repairs, 90% has been completed and the remainders will be finished before January 15, 2026.

The leaders of Gia Lai province said that they have applied the policies of eliminating makeshift and dilapidated housing for flood-hit households without delay. The province did not request additional funding from the central government but mobilized resources from its contingency budget and contributions from organizations and individuals.
