"Glory Vietnam" program honors exemplary individuals and collectives

President Truong Tan Sang attended an annual program called “Glory Vietnam, which honors outstanding individuals and collectives in national construction and defence. Addressing the opening ceremony in Hanoi Opera House on Sunday, Dang Ngoc Tung, President of the Vietnam Confederation of Labour said: “Glory Vietnam program has attracted the attention of people nationwide, creating a good impressions in society. Over the past 8 years, the program has become a festival to honor excellent individuals and collectives as heroes in the patriotic emulation campaigns and in national construction and defence”.

This year, there are 21 awardees, who set bight examples for others to follow. One of them is 14 year old Tran Van Truyen, who rescued 11 people and salvaged 8 bodies in a boat sinking accident under Hai Van pass in central Vietnam.
