(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung asked Google to help Vietnam expand cooperation with its partners at a reception for Google CEO Sundar Pichai in Hanoi on Tuesday.

52% of Vietnam’s 93 million people have access to the Internet and most of them use Google as a search tool. Vietnam’s market economy has economic, trade, and investment ties with almost all countries in the world. Vietnam has incentives for Internet and IT development and will continue to encourage major global IT corporations including Google to expand their operations in Vietnam. Prime Minister Dung asked Google to cooperate with Vietnamese agencies in enforcing tax laws on cross border trade and protecting Vietnam’s national security and cultural and moral values on the Internet.

The Google CEO said Google will help Vietnam train approximately 1,400 IT experts, promote its tourism, and support Vietnamese small and medium-sized enterprises access the world market via e-commerce and education and training programs. He said Google considers Vietnam one of its most important markets and hopes to contribute to Vietnam’s socio-economic development and IT industry.
