Hanoi hosts Canada-supported training on women, peace, security

(VOVWORLD) - A training course on Women, Peace and Security (WPS) for 2026, supported by Canada, opened on Sunday in Hanoi, contributing to strengthening friendship and cooperation among Vietnam, Canada, and other partner countries in United Nations peacekeeping activities.

The course brought together 32 participants who are officers and professional soldiers, including 10 international trainees and 22 trainees from Vietnam. The training is conducted by three instructors from Canada.

The program focuses on key topics such as the history, theory, and legal frameworks of the Women, Peace and Security agenda; analysis of its impact on the military and on international, regional, and national peace and security; and the role of the armed forces in implementing and promoting commitments related to women, peace, and security.
