Hanoi Municipal Party Secretary Vuong Dinh Hue addresses the meeting

If the pandemic continues to the second quarter of this year, Vietnam is unlikely to achieve its target growth of 7.5% this year. The Hanoi Municipal Party Secretary Vuong Dinh Hue said: "We must work hard to fulfill our socio-economic targets to create jobs and increase income for local people, while ensuring budget balances, and accomplishing tasks related to national defense and social security. The fulfillment of our tasks will contribute to the realization of the national socio-economic targets."

Delegates at the meeting suggested bringing into play local advantages and sectors that are less impacted by the epidemic. They stressed the importance of strengthening investment in medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, and agriculture and preparing to receive investment shifted from China due to the epidemic and the US-China trade war.
