Hanoi students with their homeland’s sea and islands

(VNA) – An exchange which is part of the program called “Vietnamese students and their homeland’s Sea and Islands” has given Hanoi youth a closer look at the life and work of soldiers defending the Truong Sa archipelago. At an event yesterday, co-organized by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, guests from the navy, the Union, the Academy, and young people who have visited the archipelago shared their warm feelings towards Truong Sa’s soldiers.

According to Hoang Ngoc Thuy of Vietnam National University Hanoi, who just returned from Truong Sa, the trip made her aware of soldiers’ staunch commitment to defending the homeland’s sea and islands. And for Hoang Minh Hieu of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, the journey to Truong Sa was an unforgettable memory: I still keep in touch with and encourage soldiers living in the archipelago since my trip. Right after coming back, I participated in a program of writing letters to Truong Sa soldiers and a communication campaign for the program called “Vietnamese students and their homeland’s Sea and Islands”. I hope more and more students, especially those of my university, will get a chance to visit Truong Sa archipelago.

The exchange paid tribute to soldiers and officers stationed in Truong Sa and the DK1 offshore platform.
