(VOVworld) – 1,000 members of the Ho Chi Minh Youth Union nationwide will attend the 10^th National Congress themed “Youth Aspiration” in Hanoi next week.

The Youth Union Secretariat told reporters on Monday that the delegates represent over 7 million Youth Union members of all ethnic groups, all religions, the armed forces and members who are studying or working abroad. The Congress illustrates the political will of young Vietnamese people in the new era who strive to overcome difficulties to take their role in national construction and defense. Secretary of the Youth Union’s Executive Committee Nguyen Dac Vinh says: "We hope all Youth Union members and young people nurture ambitions and become good citizens. Young people should strive in school and in life to consolidate their knowledge, morality, and political awareness to become good citizens in the international integration process and help Vietnam achieve its industrialization and modernization targets by 2020."

The 10^th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Youth Union will review and evaluate the previous tenure’s youth and child movements, work out orientations for the 2012- 2017 period, revise the Union’s Charter, and elect a new Executive Board.
