Huong Pagoda aims for four-season tourism

(VOVWORLD) -Hanoi’s Huong Son commune, home to the nationally renowned Huong Pagoda festival, is aiming to become a four-season attraction instead of just welcoming visitors during the festival season as it is now, according to the local authority.

Tran Duc Hai, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Huong Son commune, was speaking at a recent conference held in Huong Son on surveying, promoting, and developing tourism at Huong Pagoda in 2026. The program involved the Hanoi Department of Tourism, the UNESCO Hanoi Travel Club, travel businesses, and local authorities.

Participants suggested that Huong Son capitalize on its natural landscape according to seasons and themes, adding that spring could be associated with festival tourism; autumn, when water lilies bloom, could promote experiential tourism and photography. However, they stressed the need tell local unique stories, deepen experience, and offer accompanying services, while developing all-inclusive 1-2 day packages to attract more international tourists.

According to the proposed itinerary, in the morning, visitors can enjoy the scenery of Yen Stream, visit Thien Tru Pagoda, and listen to a well-prepared explanation of its historical, cultural, and religious value. In the afternoon, the program expands to experiential activities like making traditional peanut candy and harvesting and using local medicinal herbs.

Destinations like Cay Khe Pagoda, Long Van Pagoda, and the Cave of Ancient People have great potential for developing trekking, meditation, wellness, and team-building activities. The ancient cave could become an attractive natural film set.

Huong Son's cultural tourism and community tourism will be associated with local specialties, such as Huong Tich apricots, wild vegetables, and yam.
