India, Pakistan hold emergency meeting

India and Pakistan held a meeting on Monday to ease border tensions. New Delhi accused Pakistani soldiers of firing mortal shells at its base near the Line of Control (LOC) on Sunday which triggered India’s retaliation. Trade between the two countries across the LOC has been suspended for a week.

Responding to reporters at a press conference on Monday in New Delhi, India's army chief General Bikram Singh strongly condemned Pakistani soldiers for killing 2 Indians at the LOC and beheading one of them, calling those acts brutal and unacceptable.
