Indonesian Assembly Speaker ends Vietnam visit
(VOVworld) - Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly of Indonesia Sidarto Danusubroto returned to his country on Wednesday, following a successful visit to Vietnam at the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung.
During his stay, the speaker held talks with Chairman Hung and met with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung. The leaders expressed their satisfaction with the consistent development of Vietnamese-Indonesian relations particularly since the two countries officially established their strategic partnership in 2013. They said that they hoped the two legislative bodies would accelerate cooperation and the adoption of related agreements and efficiently supervise the implementation of signed agreements. With regards to the East Sea issue, both sides agreed that any disputes should be addressed through peaceful means and dialogue so as to bring stability to the region.
Indonesian speaker Sidarto also laid a wreath at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and visited General Vo Nguyen Giap’s house and some scenic spots in Vietnam.
