Representatives of 15 countries and international organizations including the United Nations attended a conference in London, calling all parties in Sudan to implement an immediate and permanent ceasefire and to support the transition to a civilian government. They emphasized the need to protect Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity and pledged nearly 906 million USD in new humanitarian aid for Sudan.

The conflict in Sudan has killed thousands of people and displaced more than 13 million people. The UN says Sudan is experiencing the world’s worst hunger and displacement crisis. The African Union says peace in Sudan can only be achieved through an unconditional ceasefire and comprehensive peace talks.
