International organizations send relief to Vietnamese people affected by typhoon Yagi

(VOVWORLD) - Samaritan’s Purse, an international NGO dedicated to humanitarian aid and community development, on Monday handed over aid, worth approximately 116,000 USD, including flashlights, cooking sets, water filters for households, and clean water containers.

The Swiss Government delivered relief goods valued over 430,000 USD to Yen Bai province, including 26 tons of equipment for safe housing, clean water, and sanitation. Switzerland also sent 8 experts in the fields of clean water, sanitation, and safe housing to conduct surveys and in-depth research on Yen Bai’s needs, and propose appropriate reconstruction plans.

A flight carrying over 35 tonnes of aid from the Indian Government landed at Noi Bai airport in Hanoi on Sunday evening. The 1-million-USD aid included water purifiers, water containers with valves, water tanks, blankets, mosquito nets, solar-powered lights, and cooking sets.

Since September 11, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has received aid from the Australian government, the ASEAN Coordination Center for Humanitarian Assistance on Disaster Management, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
