In a statement on Sunday, Iran’s Foreign Minister Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi urged other countries to comply with the sustainable ceasefire and promoted a comprehensive monitoring system to prevent the terrorists from transporting weapons and forces. According to Iranian Foreign Ministry’s officials, the continuation and sustainability of the ceasefire relies on the creation of a comprehensive monitoring mechanism, particularly control of borders to prevent the terrorists’ actions.
Earlier on Friday, US Secretary of State John Kerry said Russia and the US had reached an agreement to minimize violence and bring peace to Syria. On Saturday, the Syrian government agreed with the ceasefire brokered by Russia and the US, which will take effect on September 12.
