The Iranian foreign ministry said in a statement that sanctions were imposed on several military companies as well as ministers and lawmakers from various European countries, both at a national level and in the European Parliament. The sanctions include blocking accounts and transactions in Iran's banks and the "prohibition of visa issuance and entry" to Iran.
The EU on Monday imposed measures targeted 32 individuals and two entities, largely aimed at lawmakers, judiciary officials and prison authorities. Last month, Iran imposed sanctions on 34 British and EU individuals and entities in response to similar measures against Iran.
