Iran says third round of nuclear talks the most serious so far

(VOVWORLD) - Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Thursday that the third round of indirect nuclear talks with the US in Geneva was the most serious so far. He said the discussions addressed Iran’s nuclear program and the US’s sanctions.

Araghchi noted that an understanding had been reached on some issues, while differences remained on others, but both parties had demonstrated seriousness about reaching an agreement.

He added that further talks will take place in Vienna on Monday at the headquarters of the International Atomic Energy Agency, with the aim of establishing a framework and structure for addressing technical matters.

The Washington Times reported that Democratic lawmakers are planning to force a vote on war powers resolutions, which would require President Donald Trump to appear before Congress to justify any use of military force against Iran.
