Mr. Pezeshkian made the remarks during a phone call with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on Thursday. He praised Malaysia's government and people for their "valuable" principled condemnation of the attacks on Iran, calling it principled support for Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
PM Anwar reaffirmed Malaysia’s firm opposition to any violation of Iran’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and called for international guarantees to prevent similar attacks from occurring in the future.
President Trump claimed Thursday that Iran allowed 10 oil tankers to pass through the Strait of Hormuz as a gesture of goodwill amid negotiations aimed at ending the conflict. Meanwhile, US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff said there are “clear positive signals” indicating the possibility of reaching an agreement to end the conflict.
