(VOVworld)-The International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) plans to hand over security responsibility to Afghan military forces next year. ISAF Commander Curtis Scaparrotti said yesterday that the NATO-led security mission will step up building and training Afghan military forces and complete the handover next year. The US will withdraw 23,000 troops from Afghanistan before September and the remaining American Special Forces will gradually switch to consulting and training the Afghan army.
