Islamic State sets up Libyan desert army

(VOVWORLD) - Islamic State (ISIS) militants in Libya, since losing their Sirte stronghold on the Mediterranean shore last year, have set up a desert army.

Libyan official said on Thursday that ISIS’s new army is composed of at least 3 brigades led by Libyan commander Al-Mahdi Salem Dangou, also known as Abu Karakat. The new force includes gunmen from Sudan, Egypt, Tunisia, and Algeria.
